Entry #3
This is the first weekly installment of my new blog-based story, PYRO.
Jordan just finally made it home. He had been trying to escape the town sheriff, who got wise about Jordan and his habit of dining and dashing. Jordan breathed a sigh of relief, and walked up to his room. When he got up, he turned back to the door. His backpack was tossed roughly to the side of as he closed the door to the world. Summer was here, finally, and he could get down to important things. Like sleeping. Jordan flopped down on his bed, where he felt some solitude. Then his phone rang. He rummaged through his pockets, until he found it. After checking the caller ID, he saw that it was Marcus, his best friend.
"Hey Marcus. What's up?" Jordan asked into the speaker.
"Nothing much. You remember about tonight?" Marcus asked in return.
"Wha- oh yeah! Meteor shower at eight. I'm meeting you at the park."
"Right. Don't be late, dude."
"Wouldn't miss it for the world."

The sky seemed to be collapsing in on the general. He yelled out as best he could to his highest officer beside him to get into the escape pod.
"There isn't much time! You have to get into that pod! The mere arrival of the Glacions is screwing with our ecosystem!" the general yelled over winds clocking over 20 mph.
The general's highest officer was coming back from a failed negotiation attempt to the nearby planet Glacious, a planet with an average temperature of about 4 degrees Celsius in the summertime, the current season there. The beings of Pyronia and Glacious have been at war with each other for thousands of years, and seeing as the beings were just energy that manifested itself into other living beings, the planets' populations were a very odd thing to look at.
"But general, then I would have to leave this body behind, and I would lose all memory that I didn't get while in the pod. And then I would be defenseless wherever I landed!" yelled the officer.
"Exactly. Get in the pod now!" The general held up a red sphere the size of a basket ball. "Look, they have a third ship landing! You have to leave now!"
So the officer placed his hand on the sphere, and willed himself away. And with a ripping sensation similar to pulling a tooth, he found himself blind and cold, and without any idea what was going on.
Then, the general took fast action and secured a small implantable robotic disk jockey (roughly the size of a quarter) to the side of the sphere. The jockey read off lines of code so fast that it began to steam. The general could tell it was doing its job, reading off as much information as it could up until the last week and half. Then, the general placed the orb into a launcher, and it was ejected into space.
The general felt something cold and invasive get pressed up against his back, which he immediately recognized as a Glacion blaster. He turned slowly to face the Glacion, and saw that its host was human, or close to it. Its hair was spiked back, and was a deceivingly calm shade of blue-white.
"Do it you son of a bitch," the general said to the enemy.
"With pleasure," responded the figure, with a voice that cut through the general like a knife, somewhat similar to the effect the blaster had on his chest in the following second.
That was 400 years ago.

Jordan sped his bike down the street to the park. He saw Marcus staring at him from the swing-set, along with about thirty or so hippies in the back. He caught up with Marcus just in time to say "Hi" when one of the hippies shouted out:
"Hey, man! It's starting!"
Jordan and Marcus both climbed up to the top of the swing-set, as the first group of meteors flew by. After about 5 minutes of awe inspiring phenomena, one meteor moved away from the others. It was large, and heading straight towards them.
"Marcus... do you-"
"Yeah... I do, Jordan"
"Shit?"
"Shit."
And with that, both boys took to the woods, not for any practical reason, they just felt safer than in the open park. Then, a bright red glow passed over the heads of the boys, dousing them in what felt like emergency lights from a bunker, which really did help their moods. Finally, a resounding explosion filled their ears, and a shock wave knocked them to the ground. The vague sounds of fleeing hippies could be heard from the woods. Marcus ran ahead to check it out.
"Jordan?"
"What...?"
"Look at this," Marcus said, sounding completely in awe. Jordan walked slowly forward until he was at edge with the crater side.
"Whoa."
"Yeah whoa. What do you think it is, Jordan?"
"I don't know, but its obviously a red orb of some kind," Jordan replied, still aghast. So Jordan jumped down into the crater. He picked up the red orb.
"Hey Marcus, this thing is a lot colder than it should be." Then, the unthinkable happened. It exploded. It exploded, bathing Jordan in waves of red energy, which Marcus knew could be deadly radioactive rays. Then, Jordan was shot up 20 feet in the air, and released a pulse of fire. He floated for a second or less, then plummeted to the ground.
It was then that both of their lives changed forever.
